What to know about 1″ x 11 1/2″ Bullnose Stair Treads

This is our most popular stair tread, and we keep several thousand in stock at all times. Made of solid wood, each piece is 1 inch thick and 11 1/2″ wide. Choose the length that is right for you, starting at 36″. If you need treads that have a finished end on one side, you determine which side (left or right) by standing at the bottom of the staircase and looking up. If the steps are exposed on the right side, then choose right returns when adding the treads to your cart. And vise versa for left return stair treads.

Available Unfinished or Prefinished

You can order your stair treads unfinished to be sanded and finished to your liking on your job-site. Or you can choose the prefinished option, which means the treads are professionally sanded, sealed and finished with multiple coats of commercial quality wood finish. Our standard finish is a satin sheen, however if you want matte, semi-gloss or high gloss finish please specify that when ordering (if ordering online there is a space for you to enter that request).

Purchased 36 Hickory treads of 3-1/4th thickness x 13'' x40" and 2 big landings . These are non-butcher blocks with regular face grain on top, bottom and front. They offered me incredible pricing. I searched and spoke to may of them, none could offer me these specs, all of them were offering various species with butcher block design. Pricing was better than my contractor could find and the product was exactly what I wanted. There was an issue with shipping (1/2) of my order was sent to the wrong place and some pieces were damaged. Customer service jumped on it quickly and the issue was corrected to my satisfaction. There was more scrap than expected in the 'character grade' flooring, but it still came out to less than 10%.
