Floors Cut From the Same Cloth as the Best in the World
Some floors are chosen. Bare Roots floors are inherited — the kind a room is built around, not the kind that gets picked last off a sample rack.
Every plank starts as raw, unmilled hardwood before it earns its place in one of six collections, each built to a different standard of character and refinement. Nothing carries the Bare Roots name until it's proven itself.
Ground Work — 1/2" thick, 3mm wear layer, 7 1/2" wide. Engineered European oak. The foundation grade: honest, durable hardwood for spaces that need to perform first and impress second.
Common Ground 5/8" thick, 4mm wear layer, 7 1/2" wide. Engineered European oak. A step up in figure and consistency, for rooms where the floor should hold its own without stealing the scene.
Cotswolds — 5/8" thick, 4mm wear layer, 10 1/4" wide. Engineered European oak. Our signature collection. Deep, storied grain with the warmth of English countryside oak — available in eight finished colors, from the pale calm of Natural to the rich depth of Blackwood.
Riviera Grand Select — 9/16" thick, 3mm wear layer, 7 1/2" wide. Engineered European oak. Wide-plank presence with a grand-select grain — fewer knots, longer runs, a calmer look across a big room.
Pacific Reserve — 3/4" thick, 6mm wear layer, 10 1/4" wide. Engineered European oak. The top of the engineered line. Rare cuts, exceptional grain, and a finish reserved for rooms that only get built once.
Miller's Series — 3/4" thick, 5" wide. Solid European oak — no wear layer, no plywood core, just European oak from face to bottom. The only solid hardwood in the Bare Roots lineup. Built for the homeowner who plans on refinishing it themselves, decades from now, instead of replacing it.
Bare Roots isn't a flooring option. It's the floor everything else in the room has to live up to.
