3/8″ x 1 1/2″ Select Quarter Sawn Red Oak Solid Flooring
$7.29 sq. ft.
Description
This Quarter Sawn Red Oak flooring measures 3/8″ Thick and 1 1/2″ wide, a very rare and unique item to find. Although this flooring was relatively common several decades ago, there are very few manufacturers that make flooring of these dimensions today.
Because it is thin, only 3/8″ thick, this solid red oak hardwood is significantly more stable than thicker floors like the 3/4″ thickness that is so popular today. Also being narrower, only 1 1/2″ wide makes this flooring even that much more stable. Then as if those two factors alone didn’t make this about the most stable solid hardwood flooring available, being Quarter Sawn makes this solid oak just about the most stable solid wood flooring product one could possibly have.
Quarter Sawn hardwood is known for it’s unique properties that result in little or no expansion and/or contraction during seasonal changes in Relative Humidity, something that Plain Sawn/Flat Sawn hardwood cannot claim.
This is solid red oak flooring with tongue and groove milling on both sides and with square ends. This flooring is 3/8 inch thick, 1 1/2 inches wide, and varies in length from 1 to 7 1/2 feet long.
