Quarter Sawn White Oak is defined as white oak that has been cut between 60 – 90 degrees across the growth rings of the white oak log. Flooring is made from quartersawn white oak lumber because it is far superior to plain sawn lumber, because of the way this special lumber reacts to changes in it’s surrounding climate.

Plain sawn white oak expands and contracts horizontally (side-to-side), while quarter sawn lumber does not (it’s movement is minimal, and is vertical), making quarter sawn white oak flooring a more suitable choice whenever there are concerns about dimensional stability. This Quarter Sawn White Oak hardwood flooring features tongue and groove milling on both sides and both ends, and measures 3/4 Inch thick, 4 Inches wide and features random lengths up to 7 feet long. Relief grooves on the bottom of the planks increase the stability of the product.
